"A Legacy of Love and Care"
In the heart of Vermont, where rolling hills meet rugged mountains, the Ballou family’s story unfolds like a cherished heirloom. For me, it begins in 1874 in Wilmington, Vermont with the birth of John Benjamin Ballou, a man destined to shape generations. His love for Lora Eberly led to a legacy that would continue through their daughter, Margaret, and ultimately to me, Robert "Bob" M. Phillips.
Our family's roots run deep in this verdant state, dating back to the early 1700s. We've been farmers, artisans, and pioneers, but perhaps our most enduring legacy lies in the realm of faith, love, and service.
Over time we will introduce you to distant relatives like Hosea Ballou who revolutionized religious thought with his belief in a loving and caring God, and Major Sullivan Ballou who penned a poignant letter to his wife before the Battle of Bull Run, expressing his deep devotion. These two men, separated by generations but united by their values, exemplify the enduring power of love and care.
I've spent my life immersed in the world of consumer products, particularly personal care products. But it wasn't until I joined forces with Dawn Lancaster, that I found a path to bring a long-awaited dream to life. Together, we created Ballou Family Apothecary—a Vermont-based haven of natural lotions, potions, and remedies.
As the steward of Ballou Family Apothecary, I invite you to join us on this journey of love and care. Our products are more than just skincare; they're a reflection of our family's values and our commitment to creating a healthier, happier world. Whether you're looking for a soothing balm for your skin or a moment of tranquility for your mind, we hope our offerings will bring a touch of Vermont's natural beauty and healing power into your life. Together, let's embrace the legacy of the Ballou family and share the gift of love and care with generations to come.
