Remedy Balm with aloe is Ballou Family Apothecary’s multiuse, plant‑powered first‑aid salve, crafted to happify everyday skin moments (scrapes, chapping, bruises, bug bites, and tattoos) without a medicine cabinet full of single‑use tubes. Slow‑infused certified organic herbs in olive oil—calendula, arnica, St. John’s wort, plantain, comfrey, chickweed, red clover, echinacea root, sage, yarrow, chamomile, and myrrh—are blended with jojoba oil, aloe, Vermont beeswax, benzoin, vitamin E, and a whisper of lavender and rosemary to create a breathable, protective veil. The result is a rich yet elegant balm that calms hot, irritated skin, eases the look and feel of bruises and bumps, softens dry, cracked areas, and supports the skin’s natural repair process for visible improvement within 48–72 hours of consistent use.

How to Use

Step 1 – Start with clean skin: Gently cleanse the area and pat dry.

Step 2 – Warm a small amount: Use clean, dry fingers or a spatula to scoop a pea‑sized amount, then warm between fingertips until it melts.

Step 3 – Apply a thin layer: Massage a light veil over the area—more is not necessary; a thin coat is ideal.

Step 4 – Reapply as needed: Use 2–3 times daily, or as often as needed, until the skin looks and feels comfortable.

Tips:
For fresh tattoos, follow your artist’s initial aftercare instructions, then transition to a thin layer of Remedy Balm once they clear you for a breathable balm.

For very dry or cracked areas, apply at bedtime and cover with cotton socks or gloves as an overnight treatment.

For face or delicate areas, use sparingly and patch test first, especially on highly sensitive skin.

Why People are Switching

For decades, many families have relied on ointments built around heavy petrolatum bases, synthetic antiseptics, lanolin, pesticide‑class ingredients like 8‑hydroxyquinoline sulfate, and even topical antibiotics. Over time, the questions got louder: Do they really want petroleum‑derived ingredients on every cut or crack? Are they comfortable using antibiotic ointment on routine scrapes? How do they feel about a salve that depends on a fungicide‑type antiseptic more at home in a pesticide dossier than a family apothecary? And why is something so simple as a skin salve stuffed with names they can’t pronounce?

Remedy Balm with aloe is the antidote to that old story. It leans on plant‑science instead of pharmaceuticals or petrochemicals, offering a recognizable ingredient list rooted in traditional apothecary wisdom and modern herbal insight. One elegant formula takes the place of multiple “treatment‑specific” salves, simplifying shelves and routines while aligning with values: clean, intentional, and deeply effective care for everyday skin moments.
